Forest hills

As one of the five satellite cities of Nashville, Tennessee, the city of Forest Hills derives its name from the majestic hillsides surrounding the neighborhood which create a nature-rich environment full of various species of wildlife and forestry alike. With this unique type of territory comes some of Nashville's most coveted hiking trails and greenways, along with larger than average lot sizes when compared to other suburban neighborhoods throughout the city. Given the tranquility derived from the natural elements of the neighborhood, along with its close proximity to the major urban areas of Nashville, it is no wonder why Forest Hills sits at the top of the list for people identifying the local communities with the highest quality of living. For this reason, the community also has one of the lowest turnover rates in Nashville, meaning that once homeowners settle down in Forest Hills, they tend to call it home for years on end.

While just knowing some of this information may be obvious in the minds of the long standing residents of Forest Hills, it is far more complex as well as essential to determine the implications of such unique community qualities and their impact on the local real estate market. For that level of expertise to be mastered, it takes a true expert like Jane McCracken who has the credentials of being a 30 year resident of Forest Hills with over 40 years of uninterrupted service to her clients within the Nashville real estate market. Having spent the bulk of her career focusing on the needs of her own community, amassing 40 single family listings in Forest Hills and still counting, she is the single most decorated solo agent in the history of the Forest Hills real estate market. While many real estate professionals may view this record of service as grounds for consideration of retirement for reaching such a profound milestone, Jane sees it as a privilege to have had the opportunity to serve her community with such vital patronage that has contributed directly for its extended growth through the years.

One of her fondest memories lasts from working hand in hand with city officials such as her late next door neighbor, dear friend and former longstanding Mayor of Forest Hills, John C. Lovell, to handle the daunting task of balancing necessary neighborhood development with essential community preservation. The two shared a close bond during their 29 year relationship as next door neighbors before John's passing in October of 2022. In the Spring of that following year, Jane accepted John's late wishes to represent the family's interests and needs surrounding his surviving estate. Jane honored his memory by working alongside John's grieving son to carry out the tasks set before them in a manner that would make John proud as a longtime neighbor, client, and dear friend.

Along with this beautiful testament of community service and neighborly love, Jane has doubled down on her commitment to continue serving the community by bringing into the fold her son of 29 years and budding young real estate professional, Kaylor McCracken. Kaylor was born and raised in Forest Hills in the same home that Jane and her husband David still reside in today. Having returned to his hometown in the height of the pandemic, Kaylor has planted his own roots not far from the community, just west of town in Fairview, Tennessee, where he continues to embrace his passions for nature and wildlife that were instilled in him during in his childhood spent running through the wooded landscape of Forest Hills. The mother-son duo have made big plans for their mission of servicing the real estate needs of the citizens of Nashville, Tennessee, with the core and primary focus of their practice remaining right where it has always been, in the heart of the city of Forest Hills.

Jane and Kaylor McCracken would each like to extend their gratitude to each of you for having read the entirety of this forward, which was written with the sincere intent of informing both potential and long term residents of Forest Hills about their genuine passion for unwavering community service and their elite expertise in the local real estate market.
